Natrajan is a well-known professional in the port sector in India with over 40 years of experience. He is a Gold Medallist from IIT Madras in Civil Engineering. He has also done his Masters in Structural Engineering from the same Alma Matar. He has raised 2 mega ports from greenfield situation, namely – JNPT & Mundra ports. He has prepared the DPR for Rewas port, which is a mega port on the West, conceptualised in way so as to become the Rotterdam of South East Asia for handling all types of cargo. He has prepared the due deligence report for a number of port projects. He is an approved arbitrator and a fellow of the Institution of Engineers India.

Umesh has an extremely well regarded track record of 39 years, which includes his most recent stint as a Director on the Board of the Shipping Corporation of India, one of the largest shipping companies in the world. Umesh has over his 39 year tenure has served the Shipping Corporation in leading commercial and technical roles.
